Contain the running game

Villanova's ground game, led by Aaron Ball and his 785 yards this season, has helped them win all season. The Wildcats rush for more than 200 yards per game, and after allowing Delaware to run all over the Tigers in the second half on Saturday, it could be the deciding factor for Towson. Senior Safety Drew Mack was very involved in stopping the run against the Blue Hens, and I can see him making double-digit tackles this week as well.

Score early and often

Quarterback Sean Schaefer leads the conference in passing yards and also has attempted more passes than any other in the CAA. Against Villanova's vulnerable pass defense, there is reason to believe he could have a big game in his final road game of his storied career. However, if Towson is to fall behind early, Schaefer will be forced to throw more and more. It's key for the Tigers to get ahead and allow their running game to play a part in the game. Schafer is having a monster season, but he won't have to do as much if Towson can jump ahead.

Keep Schaefer upright

Villanova's pass rush, led by Greg Miller and Tim Kukucka who have combined for 10 alone, has racked up 25 sacks for a total loss of 166 yards. Combine that with the 29 sacks that the Towson offensive line has allowed and Saturday's game could get ugly. The offensive line needs to keep Schaefer upright to give him time to find the plethora of receivers he has. Especially early in the game, Villanova will pin its ears back and go after the senior gunslinger.
