Spoiler Alert: ‘Punk’d’ returns to broken MTV
As Fox’s shows slow down for break, MTV is just getting started. “Jersey Shore” is in full swing, jam packed with the more Tweetable lines than “The Hangover.” Last episode, Jenny and Roger celebrated their one-year anniversary with fake rose petals and furry handcuffs.
Mike is intent on telling Gianni about his hook-up with Snooki. And Jonny “The Unit” Manfre gets arrested for walking around shirtless and drunk.
I could see why I would get arrested for that, but not quite sure what he did. Anyway, I am sticking around to see Snooki eventually give birth (poor child). And in the next episode, the gang is trying out Mother Nature a la camping, and there is no way I’m going to miss that. But just in case that’s not enough Pauly D for you, have no fear.
Premiering March 29 at 10:30 p.m., the public will follow Pauly D around the country as he attempts to use his fame to make it in the music industry in a show called, “The Pauly D Project.” We begin our journey with Pauly in his hometown in Rhode Island, not exactly the first place I guessed he lived.
We learn from commercials that on his tour, we will be visiting Las Vegas and that Pauly D will be opening for a Britney Spears concert. I can’t determine whether I think this show will be a hit with the ladies, or a complete flop like the original “Jersey Shore” (and when I say flop, I mean terrible entertainment that is obnoxiously popular.) The more intriguing revamped show is premiering right before one of VIBE Magazine’s “Top Six DJs Who Rocked 2011.” “Punk’d” is back! Ashton Kutcher will not be rejoining as host, seeing as he’s got other things going on right now (like divorce), but an executive producer.
Oh no, our host for the first episode will be none other than Justin Bieber! He will start off the show pranking Taylor Swift, somehow making her believe she ruined a wedding. Um, Biebs, you need to work on getting people to like you, not making America’s sweetheart cry because she thinks she ruined someone’s magical day. The celebrity host of the show will rotate each week, including Miley Cyrus (gag), Kellan Lutz, Bam Margera and “Punk’d” alumnus Dax Shepard. Some of the victims are rumored to be Khloe Kardashian, Demi Lovato and Tyler Posey.
I might tune in to see a prank on a Kardashian, but otherwise, most of the “Punk’d” pranks make people cry, and I can’t even make it through a Sarah McLachlan commercial. After all, I live on a college campus, so I need not go further than Paws to observe a pack of douchebags, if I so desire.
