Encouragement for ed board

6 May 2012 By Q.D. Thompson, Towson Alumnus Class of 1942 No Comments

Speaking as a 90-year-old Tiger, Class of 1942, I want you to know that the education that I received at The Towson State Teachers College has stood me in good stead in all of my work, play and as a Naval Reserve Officer, in my eight years of active duty in WWII and the Korean Conflict.

I have been so pleased in expressing my appreciation to Towson University through my 50 plus years of volunteer service, and also in serving the public with my 32 years as a middle school principal at a local independent school, the first such establishment in the nation.

And I wish to congratulate you, Mr. New Editor-in-Chief of The Towerlight, Jeremy Bauer-Wolf, as you take your new seat of responsibility, and also thank your predecessor, Lauren Slavin, who performed in an outstanding manner. And I wish her well in all of her future endeavors.

The Towerlight is an absolute, excellent publication, and as one of your avid readers, I look forward with fondness to receiving it.

Hang tough, Jeremy, and go for ‘IT!!”’
