31 May 2012 By Jeremy Bauer-Wolf, Editor-in-Chief No Comments

University of Maryland, Baltimore County Police are investigating the possibility of a gunman on campus, though they said the suspect he has left the area.

Police said in a statement on the UMBC website that they have located the weapon and vehicle of the suspect, who has yet to be identified, and that all activity has returned to normal.

Authorities received word of the incident following a call at 5:15 a.m. from a female resident who claimed the suspect, an acquaintance, displayed a weapon in a non-threatening manner. The female is currently being questioned by police.
