Support your team next year

Football needs fan support

With the semester winding down, most students are looking forward to the summer and so am I.

However, I am also looking forward to fall semester.

Why? Bear with me, I’m not totally crazy.  I am looking forward toward football season.

Last year, the football team was one heck of a surprise.

It was incredible to be at every home game and to be a part of restoring the roar.

And restore they did after a 9-2 season and a disappointing early loss in the playoffs, it is up to us students to preserve the roar, if you will.

The football program is no longer a laughing stock (we can’t say that for basketball, however) and it is something to take pride in.  With the team returning most of its starters, they are poised for another successful season.

I ask you, why wouldn’t you want to be a part of something like this?

Coach Ambrose and the team have given us a program to be proud of and it is up to us to give them a home atmosphere that they can work with.

You can never underestimate the importance of that.

I hope everyone can get excited for the season when we return in the fall and we can fill Unitas Stadium with a black and gold mass in the student section.

The team has set the bar for themselves this year, saying that their goal is to make it to the FCS Championship game.

I sure hope this happens and I will be at every home game cheering on my Tigers.

For so long TU has yearned for an athletic program that they can hang their hat on.

This program is now the football team.

We can finally come together as a school on Saturday nights at the U and share one common goal: a winning team.

Everyone needs to put aside their party plans for two hours and support the team.

I don’t think that’s too much to ask.  That’s the only way that the team will build on its success and thrive…support.

Support from students, alumni, faculty, and just fans in general.

This is a call to action.

Next year I want to see the U packed in both grandstands.

This is a fun team to watch.  And fellow students, there is no excuse not to go.

All that’s required is the swipe of your OneCard, and you’ll be supporting our Tigers.
