A Black Tiger Affair: Cool and classy

1 July 2012 By Josh Venecia, Columnist No Comments

The temperature isn’t the only thing rising.

The humidity has been reaching hair-raising heights. Now it’s not just hot, it’s sticky.

Humidity is like 1,000 people touching you at the same time.  The first thing people want to do is wear the least amount of clothing possible.

Instead, it should be the opposite.

Staying cool for the summer doesn’t always mean less clothing. It’s all about the material.

Wearing tight fitted clothing often leads to huge sweat spots.

Before you grab those shorts that could be mistaken for underwear, try something that is longer and looser fitting.

The main focus in picking a great summer wardrobe is the material. Don’t be afraid of transparent garments, especially those that are white.

If the material is too light that you can see through it, wear a tank-top underneath for the top or a slip for the bottom.

Staying cool for the summer is important, but it doesn’t mean you should sacrifice dignity.

Dresses and skirts never go out of style for a reason.

Not only are they comfortable, they are classy. They allow for a nice breeze (or so I’ve heard). You can never go wrong with a nice sundress or maxi dress. The big thing going around this summer is a hi-lo skirt.

It’s the mullet of skirts: it comes up just above the knees in the front and is longer in the back to cover up the business end.

Not all skirts have to be above the knee, try a maxi skirt. They allow you to be cooler (again, so I’ve heard).

Summer fashion is a rare instance in life where less does not always mean more.
