This past week Taylor Swift announced that her new album, “Red,” will be released on October 22 and dropped the album’s first single, “We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together.” Ironically, on the eve of this announcement news broke that Swift purchased a Cape Cod mansion that is within walking distance of her new beau, Connor Kennedy’s, family home. After weeks of speculation, just as Swift seems to have given the dating green light to the tabloids, she is at it again: who is she never getting back together with?! Swift has mastered the art of cute pop tact, but can she keep up her love-torn act or will her new album sing a new tune?

Miley Cyrus Dons a New ‘Do

Also working double time in the headlines is Miley Cyrus. On August 12, the former Disney darling cut her hair into a short platinum blonde crop, reminiscent of Ashlee Simpson circa 2010. Many fans said that she could really use her Hannah Montana wig to cover up, but little did they seem to know, Cyrus’ pixie was actually the one getting away with a cover up. Cyrus is supposedly in the middle of inking a deal with “Two and a Half Men” to play the love interest of Jake, who is played by Agnus T. Jones. With all the talk of edgy hair (or lack thereof), Cyrus’ rumored role might not be the sexy, cute spin that “Men” was looking for.

Rob Kardashian Ditches Sock Biz

Rob Kardashian is known for riding on his famous sister’s coattails—a fact that is constantly thrown in his face while starring on “Keeping up with the Kardashians.” After years of failed attempts at independence, Kardashian announced in late 2011 that he would be launching a sock line. However, just shy of a year later, Kardashian has abandoned his sock dreams for bigger and better things: law school. Kardashian announced on Twitter that he will be following in his father’s footsteps and attending the University of Southern California.  Will he be able to earn a coveted law degree, despite failing to bring socks to life? Luckily, with three more guaranteed seasons of the family reality show, it’s likely his progress won’t go on quietly.
