Obama’s policies not strong enough
Speaking as a 91-year-old Tiger, Class of ‘42, a retired educator with 32 years of experience as the Head of the Independent McDonogh Middle School, located near Owings Mills, Md. – the first such school in the nation – and a Naval Officer Veteran with eight years of active duty, over two of which were spent aboard the aircraft carrier, The USS Enterprise, in the Pacific.
This information is being presented to the Towson students in the hopes they will be able to utilize it in their current events and/or foreign-relations courses, as I sincerely believe they should be well-versed in what actually happened, rather than what is endorsed, or otherwise failed to be revealed, by the liberal party.
Personally, I am an Independent voter with leanings toward the conservative doctrines which I believe will be able to reduce the food stamp programs and welfare unemployment lines which would then result in getting our middle class individuals back to work.
My heart becomes heavy and tears stand in my eyes each time I read the frequent articles published regarding the continuing civil upheavals in Iraq, the most recent one being, “Condemned VP defiant as tensions reigns in Iraq,” Sept. 11, 2012.
It takes the thoughts of one back to a tribunal newspaper editorial of Dec. 27, 2010 which stated, “…it’s vital that Mr. al-Maliki, the prime minister of Iraq, makes good on his promise to lead a truly representative government that offers the hope of a better life for all of its citizens.” What a beautiful democratic statement this was, and one which our U.S. troops and government officials were there in order to assist and support for its ultimate success.
But unfortunately, Iraq never had the chance to establish herself as the first democratic nation in the Middle East, as our selfish egotistical President Barack Obama eradicated the opportunities of a blooming Iraq by withdrawing our military forces from that country at the close of 2011 which was apparently executed to fulfill his selfish desires to please the home folks in order to enhance his chances for reelection in November of 2012. What a catastrophe this was – just as I had predicted in an open letter.
And now with the budding Iraq failing to blossom into a democratic nation which led to the disappearance of a U.S. military base from which our forces could work more efficiently with the other nations in that area, particularly Afghanistan while assisting to maintain control of al Qaeda and the Taliban which is an absolute necessity toward the safety and welfare of our United States, it was a beautiful gift from above.
In addition, 20 middle-Eastern countries and numerous countries in Africa openly demonstrated as anti-Americans Protesters which also cost the U.S. four American lives.
Personally, I do not believe this would have ever happened, if Iraq had been successful in becoming the first democratic nation in the Middle East for the whole wide world to behold, particularly her neighboring countries, from which our military forces would have definitely been ready for action, and while at other times thankfully serving as deterrents. Questions – Does President Obama really understand the frightening conditions which are erupting in the Middle East and Africa which, I believe, were a result of the U.S. losing control of Iraq; and which were all caused by Mr. Obama’s selfish short-sightedness in withdrawing our military forces from Iraq at the end of 2011? Is Obama really sorry, and does he really care about his obvious failures overseas?
In addition, we must also combine that with his horrible economic programs that have obviously gone nowhere. It all really makes one wonder.
I, as a dedicated American citizen, have serious doubts as to whether Mr. Obama has the strength of courage, experience, basic knowledge and a sincere desire to restore the dignity and leadership of our United States of America as it is now quickly taking on the appearance of our democratic government quickly changing into a socialistic state.
This we can not afford to tolerate.

Obama policies are too weak….but Romney’s are??? Riiiiight. Let’s not forget, men like Romney got us INTO THAT WAR ON A LIE! But hey, that would be the truth…and complaining without offering solutions is always more fun than talking about the truth, right?
Oh and I find THIS statement too rich to pass up:
“…reduce the food stamp programs and welfare unemployment lines which would then result in getting our middle class individuals back to work.”
Oh really? Removing people’s ability to feed themselves and pay their mortgage is somehow going to get them back to work? Please explain to me how that works. The mental gymnastics you’d have to perform to see any sort of logic in that statement are staggering. Again, you offer no solution or explanation…just talking Faux news talking points. Voters like you scare me. You pull the curtain armed with little more than a few hours of biased news and not one iota of actual, researched information. Yet, you’re concerned about what the students are thinking? Give them more credit than that sir…they discuss these issues with their professors and their peers…which is obviously more than you’ve bothered to do.
Oh, and I’ll bet my meal plan you’ve taken advantage of some of those “socialistic” programs you fear so much.
Thank you for your service to our country, but I’m still SMDH…
no disrespect, but this guy is delusional. How can you publish this garbage? socialistic state? really? Couldnt be farther from the truth there. Look at the stock market and tell me we are turning into a socialist state. Obama 2012!
This man is 91 years old. His political viewpoints and opinions are outdated and old-fashioned. He sees things through old eyes and that’s that. The older generations are not as flexible with the world changing as it is. What the point of publishing this letter was, I’ll never know.
Obama’s economic policies have been wasteful and the whole public health care thing is a socialistic idea. Maybe someone who has been alive 70+ years longer than you might have better insight on life than you.
The WWII generation had to be extremely flexible dealing with wars on two fronts that were actual legitimate threats to the US. That being said, however, the writer does need to be more realistic.
Do you really believe that if Iraq became a democratic nation to be held up as an example that other middle-east nations would follow and peace and stability would blossom? I seriously doubt it. We installed Saddam Hussein and he was the only person who could control the country before we killed him. Face it, George Bush was the selfish egotist. He started an unjust war on a sovereign nation that did not attack us or provoke us. There was merely the suggestion of a possibility that they had wmd. Saddam was our man! George Bush abused his power as commander-in-chief and misued the military in the Iraq war. Unfortunately it cost the tax payers $1 trillion and 10s of thousand of American and Iraqi lives. Mission Accomplished. NOT.
The US cannot solve the world’s problems. I say let the whole middle-east solve its own problems. CLose all our embassies with a sign on the door, as Denis Miller put it, “Back when you get your sh*t together.”
“Obama’s economic policies have been wasteful and the whole public health care thing is a socialistic idea.”
I can’t even debate flawed logic like this. PLEASE, turn off the TV and open a book.
“…if Iraq had been successful in becoming the first democratic nation in the Middle East for the whole wide world to behold”
You need to check your facts. Have you ever heard of Israel?
Yes, I’ve heard of Israel. I was talking, maybe not obviously, about Islamic nations in the middle east. I think anyone who thinks if we force democracy on one of these nations then the remaining will see how great it is and want to be upgraded as well. BS!
It is a pity that a certain past president abused his power to try such folly, even when he realized it would never work. Face it, George wanted to avenge his daddy because our man Saddam insulted him. If we were looking to punish someone for 9/11 why not Saudi Arabia? That’s where most of the terrorists were from. Wait, I just answered my own question – OIL. Plus the Bush family is very tight with the Saudi royal family.
If we are looking at silenceing evil dictators why not North Korea? Because they could actually fight us as near equals.
haha “withheld”. Classic democrat, can’t even use facts.
