Yes, I've heard of Israel. I was talking, maybe not obviously, about Islamic nations in the middle east. I think anyone who thinks if we force democracy on one of these nations then the remaining will see how great it is and want to be upgraded as well. BS!

It is a pity that a certain past president abused his power to try such folly, even when he realized it would never work. Face it, George wanted to avenge his daddy because our man Saddam insulted him. If we were looking to punish someone for 9/11 why not Saudi Arabia? That's where most of the terrorists were from. Wait, I just answered my own question - OIL. Plus the Bush family is very tight with the Saudi royal family.

If we are looking at silenceing evil dictators why not North Korea? Because they could actually fight us as near equals.

You need to check your facts. Have you ever heard of Israel?

The WWII generation had to be extremely flexible dealing with wars on two fronts that were actual legitimate threats to the US. That being said, however, the writer does need to be more realistic.

Do you really believe that if Iraq became a democratic nation to be held up as an example that other middle-east nations would follow and peace and stability would blossom? I seriously doubt it. We installed Saddam Hussein and he was the only person who could control the country before we killed him. Face it, George Bush was the selfish egotist. He started an unjust war on a sovereign nation that did not attack us or provoke us. There was merely the suggestion of a possibility that they had wmd. Saddam was our man! George Bush abused his power as commander-in-chief and misued the military in the Iraq war. Unfortunately it cost the tax payers $1 trillion and 10s of thousand of American and Iraqi lives. Mission Accomplished. NOT.

The US cannot solve the world's problems. I say let the whole middle-east solve its own problems. CLose all our embassies with a sign on the door, as Denis Miller put it, "Back when you get your sh*t together."

This man is 91 years old. His political viewpoints and opinions are outdated and old-fashioned. He sees things through old eyes and that's that.
Obama policies are too weak....but Romney's are??? Riiiiight. Let's not forget, men like Romney got us INTO THAT WAR ON A LIE! But hey, that would be the truth...and complaining without offering solutions is always more fun than talking about the truth, right?

Oh and I find THIS statement too rich to pass up:
"...reduce the food stamp programs and welfare unemployment lines which would then result in getting our middle class individuals back to work."

Oh really? Removing people's ability to feed themselves and pay their mortgage is somehow going to get them back to work? Please explain to me how that works. The mental gymnastics you'd have to perform to see any sort of logic in that statement are staggering. Again, you offer no solution or explanation...just talking Faux news talking points. Voters like you scare me. You pull the curtain armed with little more than a few hours of biased news and not one iota of actual, researched information. Yet, you're concerned about what the students are thinking? Give them more credit than that sir...they discuss these issues with their professors and their peers...which is obviously more than you've bothered to do.

Oh, and I'll bet my meal plan you've taken advantage of some of those "socialistic" programs you fear so much.

Thank you for your service to our country, but I'm still SMDH...
