What’s the Buzz: Timberlake, Johnny Lewis, Schwarzenegger
Timberlake Turns Back On Facebook
No matter what social network you favor most, it was impossible to escape the new Myspace teaser. “The Social Network” star, Justin Timberlake, has had a heavy hand in the site’s revamp (isn’t that ironic?) and is clearly inspired by other platforms. With a horizontal orientation, the site is one part Spotify, one part Pinterest and one part Facebook. Timberlake teamed up with Specific Media to buy the site for $35 million from News Corp, who had originally bought Myspace for $580 million. If you’re hesitant on going full circle from Facebook to Myspace, Timberlake’s team has made the transition lazy-proof with full Facebook integration. But of course, only one media company can have praises this week. After releasing iOS6, Apple users raised hell over the removal of the Google Maps app. CEO Tim Cook has released an apology for the rough and frustrating transition and has offered users some alternative apps for the time being.
Hollywood Affairs
Arnold Schwarzenegger
This past weekend was all about relations. As if fathering a child with house staff in the 90s wasn’t enough, Arnold Schwarzenegger has added insult to injury with his former wife, Maria Shriver. In his new biography “Total Recall: My Unbelievably True Life Story,” Schwarzenegger admits to having a wild love affair with actress and “Red Sonja” costar Brigitte Nielsen while he was living with Shriver.
Rob Pattinson and Kristen Stewart
It seems like Rob Pattinson and Kristen Stewart are on the dawn of reconciliation. The exposure of Stewart’s cheating ways won’t be enough to keep these soul mates apart, according to the couple’s friends. Sources say they are taking it slow and steady, but with the November premiere of The Twilight Saga’s final installment, they can only move so slowly.
Anne Hathaway and Adam Shulman
On a happier note, it has been reported that Anne Hathaway and her fiancé Adam Shulman tied the knot Saturday. Catwoman wore a Valentino design and it is rumored that she worked with the same wedding planner who organized Natalie Portman’s secret affair.
Katy’s Ex-Lover Kills Landlady and Cat
Last Wednesday morning, Johnny Lewis, “Sons of Anarchy” star and former love of Katy Perry, allegedly murdered his landlady and her cat before he fell to his own death. Catherine Davis, 81, was found dead in her bedroom from blunt-force trauma and strangulation while her cat was found dismembered in her bathroom.
Around the same time of the murder, Lewis, 28, hopped his neighbor’s fence and attacked a painter and the homeowner. Lewis had been arrested three times this year and had been out of jail for only five days before the rampage.
It is alleged that Lewis was using a new synthetic and hallucinogenic drug, Smiles, but his family says that he was suffering from “co-occurring disorders”—essentially he was fighting the drugs that were meant to be treating him.
However, until toxicology reports are released Hollywood can only try to make sense of the bizarre tragedy.
