I like Ko Larn too as it’s convenient to get to, but you do notice that Pattaya isn’t far away, i.e. lots of tourists from everywhere (incl Russia, China, etc).

As for the nightlife, yes it’s a bit more in your face than other places in Thailand, but that doesn’t really mean that you can’t find hookers in other places. The Pattaya style of nightlife is actually pretty fun if you go with the flow and like a beer or two; no need to partake in the ‘ridiclous’ action. (I took “ridiculous” as a positive by the way. )
