Jesus...here we go...

"I guess that means TWest is a ‘soft little boy.’ Do you take this seriously now that you are hearing it from current players? Is TWest trying to distract the team and spouting ‘whiny girly bullshit?’"

The difference between the letters and all that and TWest is that Terrance is not taking his issues to the paper. Or any media outlet. The only thing that he has said that would be indicative of trouble brewing was the now infamous "It's been good Towson" tweet that has since been removed. The other rumors about his feelings or problems or whatever have all come from people other than West. It's always "He said this" or "I hear that..." from random people. Take me for example. I know T (not well, but enough to feel comfortable speaking to him when I see him) and have said that I asked him about some stuff I've heard. I could swear up and down that I'm authentic and being honest but I'll bet you won't believe it until you hear it come directly from West himself. Who knows if he wasn't just speaking out of frustration? Again, it is only a rumor until he or the team make an official statement.

The current issues, both West's personal issues and the issues that are concerned with him, derive from decreased playing time (which he sees in his mind as disrespect seeing as how he had such an amazing season last year; he feels as though he has earned more carries), his immaturity, his constant clashes with the coaches, and a lack of respect for team rules. It is no secret that T has that dreaded label of "character issues" or something along those lines. He can be tough to deal with and has a bit of an ego. That is annoying and has altered my opinion of him. Things like pouting when a teammate scores an 83 yard run on his senior day makes me not want to see West play. Not supporting his teammates and coaches makes me think that he is a bit of a child. However, his problems are often the result of his own actions. Trevor and company were upset about being, allegedly, treated horribly and unfairly for no reason. Do you see the difference? West's behavior clearly isn't distracting the team anyway, just as the Trevor situation really didn't end up being more than an annoying rumor for a week. The team seems to be clicking these last few games, and these weeks have been filled with distractions. There are the playoffs potentially, a supposedly angry and transferring starting RB, a possible scandal involving the head coach, and the constant pressure to perform after last season. Yet we are winning games, both on the road and at home, and the offense looks fine without West. I love watching T play, but right now I can admit that I underestimated the rest of our offense at the beginning of the season. He is being a diva and the team is used to it. Sure, they would love to have a guy of West's caliber playing with them. You make due with what you have though. The team looks great. They aren't distracted and I am 100% certain that he isn't the only player who gets pissy during the course of a season. He just chooses to keep it mostly in the locker room and in private, and sometimes on the sidelines. There have been no open letters or public whiny shit. It's all good.

"Guess a player that had one of the greatest seasons ever in the history of the Towson Tigers isn’t a Tiger after all."

I do agree that West is a human and not a tiger. I also believe that this statement only becomes valid if he transfers/leaves Towson or is cut/dismissed from the team. As of now, he has not officially announced anything about leaving or being upset. It's all speculation at this point.

"But it’s all The Towerlight’s fault, anyway. Clearly, there is nothing wrong with how this team is being run. They are just printing ‘garbage.’

Dumbass."

I'm not sure what you mean by this. I've been pretty open with my disgust for The Towerlight and I will stand by my opinion. The Towerlight is a sub-par publication. There are consistently inaccuracies, spelling and grammar mistakes, and mismatched captions and photos. It is embarrassing to say that it is the newspaper of my University. However, please do not mistake my hatred of this elementary level newspaper for me blaming them for anything besides poor journalism. They do print garbage such as the open letters and articles about them. You can pretend that they are good articles if you'd like. In either case, the articles and the coaching of the football team are not related in the way that you suggest. The fact that the players are angry is in no way related to The Towerlight. They only way the paper is involved is the fact that they printed the stuff. They may print garbage, but they didn't supposedly insult players and make them this upset. I hate The Towerlight with all that is in me, but this situation was simply expanded by them. They did not create it. This was a pretty stupid thing to say.

Another disgruntled former player. You are soft little boys. No one cares about your feelings. Until I start to hear these things from current players, it means nothing to me. All I see are boys who are upset that they got dismissed from a team. Plain and simple.

Fuck you guys for trying to ruin Ambrose and distracting the team. Just move on. You were never going have a career in football anyway; a smart man would deal with a little yelling and take the college education. Stop with this whiny girly bullshit. No one cares about you. At all.

I love the Tigers and you are not a Tiger.

I've been around Towson since the early 90's, so I've seen them cut scholarships in football and drop men's tennis and track and field. I've been around a while too. If you look beyond the Title IX and funding excuses for cutting these programs, you would see why he is really doing it. He wants to take the money he would "save" by cutting these programs and put it into fewer programs so he could increase the amount of scholarships on the teams that are left so he could win championships quicker and pad his resume to move on to a more prestigious job in an FBS university. There are no sanctions against Towson for Title IX issues. Towson is right in the middle of the pack of compliance when it comes to D1 colleges. The 800k deficit the athletic department is in, only happened since he's been on board. If you haven't noticed, there are a lot more employees making a lot more money in the athletic department since his hiring. In addition to that, Towson is supposed to increase its enrollment 31% in the next 10 years. That equates to an additional 5400 undergrad students paying $798 out of their tuition to go towards athletics. That is an additional $4.3 million dollars!! More than enough to save baseball and men's soccer while adding all the scholarships they want to in the near future. But instead of coming up with a plan to save two long standing programs in the short term, he rather cut them to "win now!" If they added $40 to everyone's tuition next year, it would equate to approximately $800k and could save these programs until the growth of the school occurs. The next excuse we will hear, even though this growth is projected all over the TU website, is that it may not happen as quickly as anticipated because of the economy etc. So what?! We can stay above water until then instead of killing these programs. The growth will happen, but not as fast as the A.D. wants. Not to mention, if they do cut these teams ( for no reason but selfish ones)the other teams may not be more competitive just because they pumped more money into them. Just ask the Boston Red Sox or Philadelphia Phillies with two of the biggest payrolls in baseball. They both sat home and watched the play-offs, while teams like the Orioles, Athletics, and Nationals made the play-offs with a fraction of the money the others spent. Hopefully you can now understand how this is helping him. If you don't see it, then you're eyes are not opened.

I find it interesting that the football community has come out to bash Mike Waddell. It goes to show that this guy who wants to cut baseball and soccer ( for his on selfish reasons) isn't just getting bashed because of "sour grapes" from the baseball and soccer communities. He truly is a bad guy. Full of arrogance and self promotion. Let's hope baseball and soccer are saved ( by a taskforce led by David Nevins? It makes me nervous that he's in the Waddell court.)and Towson football makes another run at the play-offs. Then next year, all the athletic teams can be truly "One Towson" and get behind each other again, while finding us an A.D. that will do what is best for the students, alumni and community, not what is best for himself.

I played at Towson when Ambrose was offensive coordinator. He had his moments then but when he left I wanted to go with him because he knew his stuff ad should have been head coach of towson then. I didn't play much when at Towson and never started a game. What I did do is have the time of my life, made lifetime friends, and earned a degree that propelled me to grad school and beyond. I'm a father, a husband, and a leader for the community. What I'm trying to say is while the football piece didn't play out as I may have liked I still enjoyed every minute of it and wouldnt change my experience for the world. It made me a better person and man. Towson football is greater than any coach or AD ever will be.
