Buck named to first team Academic All-America

It was announced Thursday that co-captain junior outside hitter Katy Buck has been named as a first team selection to the Capital One Academic All-America Division I team.

Buck, a biology major, is being honored for her 3.99 GPA. She is the first Towson athlete to be given first team honors since football player Adam Overbey received it in 2000. She is the fifth Tiger is school history to earn honors from the College Sports Information Directors of America.

Buck is joined on the first team by Andrea Beck of Wake Forest, Moriah Bellissimo of Georgia Southern, Katherine Fischer of Oregon, Gina Mancuso of Nebraska and Ariel Turner of Purdue.
