Jana Kramer to perform at CAB country concert
Country artist and One Tree Hill star Jana Kramer will perform at Campus Activities Board’s annual country concert on Friday, March 8 at 8 p.m. in Paws.
Local country artist Jenny Leigh will open the show.
“We don’t usually have female artists,” CAB Director Nick Jones said. “So it’s cool to feature a different demographic. People seem really excited about it.”
While last year’s concert featured country artist Chuck Wicks, Jones said CAB wanted to make the event even bigger this year by featuring a more well-known artist.
“I’m so excited about Jana Kramer coming to Towson,” Freshman psychology major Kelsey McEneaney said. “I love country so when I heard about a country artist coming to Towson I got excited, and when I found out the artist was Jana Kramer, I became ecstatic. She’s an awesome singer and I can’t wait to see her perform live.”
Kramer is well-known for her two most recent singles “Why Ya Wanna?” and “Whiskey.” On One Tree Hill, Kramer played actress Alex Dupre.
Before revealing Kramer would headline the concert, CAB released hints on their Facebook page about who would perform. After their first hint, “The artist grew up in Michigan,” Jones said they received an overwhelming number of responses asking if it would be Kramer.
“People seem really excited,” Jones said. “I was so surprised by that first clue. I was like ‘How do people know this?’.”
Tickets sales will begin Monday Feb. 11 in the Union Box Office for Towson students and Monday, Feb. 25 on Ticketmaster for non-Towson students. Student tickets are $10 and non-student tickets are $20.
