Union Garage closed over summer

1 May 2013 By Brandi Bottalico, News Editor One Comment

The Union Garage will be closed over the summer for an estimated $450,000 renovation project.

The garages are updated every three to five years and the Union Garage is due, Director of Auxiliary Services Pam Mooney said. The overall structure needs repairs, such as the seals on the floors.

The renovations are set to begin after commencement and will continue through the summer, she said. While the Union Garage will be shut down, all other garages will be open for students taking summer classes.

“We make sure to do these renovations over the summer where there will be [little] impact on the students,” Mooney said.

The renovation is strictly structural repairs. There will be no expansion.

I wonder if they will fix that elevator that’s been out of service for years.
