The West Village Parking Garage recently experienced a shift in designated parking areas. The third level, which had previously been designated entirely for overflow and commuter parking, is now half parking for West Village Residents.
The West Village Garage was the only parking garage on campus to experience any kind of shift in parking designation.
“What we’ve done is increase the amount of resident spaces, and took away some of the overflow, which a lot of the time sits empty anyhow,” Director of Parking and Transportation Services, Pam Mooney, said.
According to Mooney, more students want to have a car on campus during the spring semester.
“In the scheme of things, we’re not taking anything away, because [parking spaces] were sitting empty anyway,” Mooney said.
