Senior editor introduction

30 April 2014 By Devorah Roberts, Senior Editor No Comments

I just spent a good 30 minutes trying to figure out how to introduce myself. I’ve never really been great at this whole “talk about yourself” thing. So I guess I’ll just do this the simple way: Hi, my name’s Devorah Roberts. I like coffee, sleeping and have read Harry Potter over 40 times (not kidding, I counted). And I sure never thought I would be here. Only a few days ago, I was video producer. And then in a day, I had a new desk, a new view of the office and a new job description.

It’s funny how fast things change sometimes. Now, I’m wondering, how will I change? How can I help The Towerlight change?

I’m not certain of the details yet, but I do know that I want to keep improving. If there’s one thing I’ve learned from The Towerlight, it’s that you have to keep striving to get better. You aren’t going to grow if you don’t try.

As senior editor, I hope to help The Towerlight improve as much as possible. In writing, in design, in photos, in video — everything. I’m still a little fuzzy on the details, but for now, I think I’ll just take it one step at a time. It’s the bigger picture that counts, right?

I’m not deluded; I know there’s only so much I can do. But, I truly hope to do as much as possible in my time here. There will be bumps along the way, and I won’t always know what I’m doing right away. But, you know, I think I’ll get there eventually.
