Who We Are

The Towerlight print edition is published twice weekly (Mondays & Thursdays) during the academic year by Baltimore Student Media, Inc. for the Towson University community. The paper includes news, opinion, sports, arts & entertainment, and display and classified advertising. Circulation is 10,000 copies per issue. The majority are dropped on the Towson campus, but we also deliver to Goucher College, Loyola College, College of Notre Dame, and Johns Hopkins University, and to street boxes and storefronts throughout the area. Our editorial operations are governed by a student editorial board and a student editor-in-chief. The advertising and business operations are run by a full-time general manager. The publication is funded entirely through advertising revenue and is neither subsidized nor supervised by Towson University.

How to Submit Copy

The Towerlight is produced on Macintosh computers using Adobe Creative Suite software (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, and Acrobat). We strongly prefer to receive ad copy in PDF format, optimized for press, and emailed to the following address: towerlightads@yahoo.com. For online advertising, we can only support .gif, .png, and .jpg file formats for static images. However, we are now able to support flash ads with the .swf file extension. Our Policies

Payment must accompany all copy submitted to The Towerlight.

The Towerlight reserves the right to reject any advertising copy for any reason or to insert the word "advertisement" above or below any copy.
Space reservations canceled less than 12 hours before our press deadline (6 p.m. on Sundays and Wednesdays) will not be eligible for a refund.

The Towerlight accepts checks, cash, and VISA, MasterCard, or Discover as payment.
Returned checks will incur a charge of $50.
Advertisers canceling bulk insertions will be backbilled for any unearned discounts received.
The Towerlight will promptly compensate advertisers for any errors committed by The Towerlight.
The Towerlight's liability for error shall not exceed the cost of the space occupied by the error.

Under the "Help Wanted" banner, The Towerlight will only post ads from local parties who are seeking to hire students for existing part-time or full-time jobs or internships. Ads offering training for potential jobs, offering "work from home" opportunities, or offering to sell lists of job leads are excluded from the "Help Wanted" category. We encourage these advertisers to consider the "Services" category.
