Campbell Ready to Play His Game
10/5/09 7:53 PM
The Redskins slipped by with their second win of the season Sunday, coming back from a 10-0 halftime deficit against the winless Buccaneers to win, 16-13. Jason Campbell had his worst game of the season, and fans were calling for backup Todd Collins while filling the stadium with boos as the team left the field at halftime. This team stayed in the game, however, and found ways to make some big plays to win this one. After the game, an assertive Campbell met with Comcast’s Kelli Johnson and the rest of the Redskins Postgame crew and defended his style of play. “I’m just going to play the rest of the season the way I know how to play," said Campbell. "Forget all this trying to make everyone outside happy. I was...Cowboys Comeback in Second Half

The Cowboys had a big comeback Monday night, returning from a 7-0 deficit at halftime to win 21-7. The first half was rough for both teams. Neither team could get a good rhythm going, committing several penalties that killed drives. Dallas still had the momentum playing in front of the home crowd, but Jake Delhomme and the Panthers took it all away as the made a TD in the last three minutes of the half. As I watched, it seemed like that would be it for the Cowboys. Carolina was going to come out in the second half, pound the ball with DeAngelo Williams and run their way to their first victory of the season. Well, Wade Phillips must have given his team one hell of a halftime speech, because when they came out in the second...Giants Keep Rolling, Shut-Out Bucs

The Giants kept their perfect record for another week, stomping the Buccaneers in Tampa Bay, 24-0. I don’t think anyone was surprised by this one. The Bucs are a young team with a rookie head coach. They are going to see some serious growing pains this season, especially on the offensive side of the ball. The Giants made that obvious throughout the game, never allowing Tampa Bay’s offense a chance. The Bucs offense finished with only 86 yards of total offense, 71 of which came on their last drive when the game was beyond reach. If we take out that last drive, that’s only 15 yards of offense in the game. That just doesn’t happen in the NFL. The Giants were all over everything the Bucs wanted to do, and this...Week 3 Picks

I’m just about to get off to work, so sorry if this seems a little rushed, but here are my picks for this week. Giants @ Tampa Bay Buccaneers This one should be an easy win for the Giants. Though their secondary is riddled by injuries, the latest player going down was safety Kenny Phillips, this defense will still hold the Bucs in check, though I imagine the Bucs will generate a fair amount of points. The big difference in this one will be the Giants offense. They have played at a very high level the last two weeks, and should have a lot of opportunities for big plays against a young Tampa defense. I’m definitely taking the Giants here, 27-16. Eagles vs. Kansas City Chiefs Vick makes his first appearance this week, and should get...Giants Are Best in East
9/24/09 2:18 PM
After inching one out in Dallas against the Cowboys Sunday evening, I think it’s pretty obvious the Giants are the number one team in the NFC East, and it’s because they showed they can win at all three phases of the game. Eli Manning has proven he’s a top notch quarterback in this league, and he’s looking the part again this season. He needed receivers step up as dependable options, and both Steve Smith and Mario Manningham are proving they are ready to get the ball in key situations. The offense needs to find a way to get more touchdowns, but that will come with time. The defense was all over the Cowboys. The front seven looked awesome, helping create pressure that led to three Tony Romo interceptions, one of which...
