'Pandorum' could fill your Space-Thriller needs
9/28/09 9:20 PM
Now, I went into this film like Roger Ebert approaches each film he reviews: knowing nothing about it. I knew Dennis Quaid was in it, true, but beyond that I knew nothing other than what the poster looked like. “Pandorum” is an entertaining movie, I can say that much. I can also say that “Pandorum” is a deafening movie. I can also say that “Pandorum” is a predictable movie. But nevertheless it is a very entertaining movie. The film surrounds two astronauts (Ben Foster and Dennis Quaid) who awake on a space craft after being in ‘hypersleep’ (which apparently requires technology directly out of “Empire Strikes Back”’s Echo Base) to find that something had gone horribly wrong....A Few Thoughts on The Emmys
9/22/09 1:24 AM
The 2009 Emmy Awards have left me with a strange feeling. I don’t feel like strangling some Emmy voters. There were some surprises, a few let-downs, but overall the show was well done. Mostly due to the hosting styling of a Mr. Neil Patrick Harris. The results show that Emmy viewership launched far beyond the let-down that was last year’s show. I mean, when winners stop to talk about how great you’re doing…you know you’ve got to be on the right track. He even turned his Emmy-loss into a joke with winner John Cryer for Best Supporting Actor in Comedy Series. Who, by the way, I’m very happy won. An under-rated comedian that, in all likelihood, will not get a chance at an Emmy once “Two and a Half...Facebook Etiquette

In a world that’s becoming more and more dependant on the updates our e-mail providers give us, Facebook has become the ultimate tool. And like any tool, there is a right way and wrong way to use it. And folks, let’s cut right to the chase: some people simply have no idea how to use Facebook. Well luckily, I’ve come to help. So I present to you The Unwritten Rules of Facebook. Let’s start with the basics: the status. Personally, I’m quite fond of having a status: a good status, that is. What’s the difference between a good and a bad status? Good statuses cover a pretty wide range. A good status can be a line from a song or movie, or even a one-sentence review of a recently watched film. References to current...12 of The Most Underrated Actors

So our site, unfortunately does not allow me to do what I wish with this post. The coding is well…bad. I mean, you’ve seen how the links work. I wanted to set this up in a ‘profile format’ for each of these lovely actors, but was unable to do so. Nevertheless. I’ve included their pictures for kicks and giggles. Now, my original plan was to make “the Top Ten Most Underrated Actors”, but quickly realized that this was an impossibility. So I simplified it, here is a listing of some of the most gifted actors out there today, who have not been given the recognition and appreciation they deserve. I do this mostly to make my ignorant generation a bit more learned about such matters. They are not ranked, and are just a snapshot of the world...Keeping My Word...sort of
9/2/09 9:07 PM
Today has been (a little bit) of one of those days. Quite possibly an omen for many more days like it. In a nutshell: I'm really not in the mood to do this properly at the moment. Why you ask? Because, quite frankly, the only topic I really feel like talking about is the one I covered on Sunday (if you couldn’t figure that one out, I am obviously far more clever than I thought). So instead of delivering to you some sort of half-hearted (not the word I was looking for) attempt at what I usually do, I will just throw some YouTube videos your way. But, I know I taunted you with an “Inglorious Basterds” review last time, so I will re-direct you a very capable movie-reviewer, and his very recent review: Basterds ---It's a...
