Just as quickly as it came, the beautiful weather of the weekend has been replaced with, you guessed it, torrential rain...again. On the bright(ish) side, it gives us a chance to pull out the fun rubber rain boots, excellent for getting to class with warm feet, puddle jumping and looking adorable! ... 1 comment

Using Fashion to Promote Awareness

Sophomore Caroline Vassighi uses an item she wears every day, her black jacket, to promote social awareness.

Different patches that come from various conventions she's attended promote her views, and start conversations with those interested in her outfit.

"It's more about reminding myself where I've been and where I'm going," Vassighi said.

Who ever thought a simple trip to the mall could end up in this much dismay? Ladies, we all participate in a fashion institution every day. You can’t go a day without this one article of clothing, yet the idea of bringing it up in proper society is taboo. It’s left un-discussed because most of the time no one even sees them. Unless, of course, you have a steady boyfriend (or not) who’s getting under-the-shirt action on a day to day basis. Of course, I am talking about the one clothing item we all love to hate: our bras. What is the purpose of a bra? To strap down your chest so you can function without your chesticles getting in the way? Of course not! Push ‘em up, push ‘em out, decorate them in lace and silk, God forbid one of your most sensitive areas... 6 comments

It's great when a teacher can dress well, but it you can tell they're trying to hard to stay with the times it can come off a little too strongly.

I don't think there's anything more inspiring to work in class than focusing on a teacher who actually cares about their apperance.

Mass Communications professor Stacey Spaulding is always fashionably dressed for my 3:30 Journalism and New Media class.

Shown here in a purple cardigan with matching flats and a pashmina scarf, her outfit is edgy and elegant, but simple enough so that when she's teaching her class about photography techniques it doesn't get in the way.
