During the first week of school, members of the department of sociology clad in “Liberal Arts Search and Rescue” T-shirts helped guide lost students in the newly completed Center for Liberal Arts building to classrooms, administrative offices and bathrooms. S&J’s crab ranch will open its doors Friday, Sept. 9 on West Pennsylvania Ave. The shop was initially set to open Thursday, but the Grand Prix caused a delay, according to co-owner Steve Recher. Recher said they’ve been fixing up the restaurant and preparing the staff for the restaurant’s grand opening for the past month and a half. With the grand opening of the new College of Liberal Arts building, the use of the former liberal arts building, Linthicum Hall, has been severely limited, according to Director of Facilities Management, Architecture and Engineering David Mayhew. The Student Government Association’s proposed resolution to support the administration and auxiliary services’s textbook rental program failed at their meeting Tuesday. The proposal was discussed for 45 minutes of the two hours the SGA met, their longest meeting of the year. Results for the Student Government Association elections were announced to a packed Loch Raven Room Thursday evening. With a total of 3,444 undergraduate student votes this year, Matt Sikorski’s Got Towson Love ticket was just seven votes away from being elected as a full ticket.
