Towson will offer additional graduation tickets to all six commencement ceremonies starting Tuesday, May 14 at 8:30 a.m. Seniors with their OneCards can visit the Chesapeake rooms Tuesday morning to obtain up to three additional tickets on a first come, first serve basis, Toyia Younger, assistant provost, said. The 2014-15 Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) will use income and other information from a dependent student’s legal parents regardless of marital status or gender if they live together. The attorney general position in the Student Government Association is going to change drastically, Attorney General Glorimar Quinones said. Traditionally, the attorney general’s responsibilities include overseeing the judicial branch, obtaining new student groups and revising their individual applications. A groundbreaking for the Towson satellite campus building at Harford Community College will be held May 30. The Union Garage will be closed over the summer for an estimated $450,000 renovation project. The garages are updated every three to five years and the Union Garage is due, Director of Auxiliary Services Pam Mooney said. The overall structure needs repairs, such as the seals on the floors. Overall crime rates in Baltimore County were down in 2012, compared to 2011 and the average over the past five years. Baltimore County Police Chief Jim Johnson announced the 6.7 percent decrease at a press conference Wednesday, along with County Executive Kevin Kamenetz.
