Howard University’s Geckeler named as women’s basketball coach

Towson Athletics announced Thursday afternoon that Niki Geckeler will be the new women’s basketball Head Coach. Geckeler previously held the same position at Howard University in Washington, D.C. for the past five years. Tigers fall to Dukes in CAA Tournament

Towson concluded its season Friday afternoon with a 59-48 loss to No. 2 James Madison in the quarterfinal round of the Colonial Athletic Association tournament. Tigers beat Seahawks in last game of regular season

Towson closed out the regular season with a 66-57 road win over UNC-Wilmington Wednesday night. The win is the team’s third in a row and fifth out of the last six games. McTiller scores 1000th point in win over Tribe

Towson closed out the Towson Center in memorable fashion Saturday night with a 79-63 win over William & Mary. The win was Head Coach Joe Mathews’ 146th victory of his coaching career, which sets the program record. Mathews will not return as Head Coach

Towson athletics officials announced in a release dated Friday, Feb. 22 that they will not be renewing the contract of women’s basketball Head Coach Joe Mathews. Towson’s two-game winning streak came to an end Thursday night with a 79-45 loss to James Madison. Towson recorded its second straight conference win Tuesday night, defeating the Hofstra Pride 69-60. Towson sneaks past Mason

Towson recorded its second Colonial Athletic Association win of the season Sunday, defeating George Mason 53-51. With just under four minutes left in the game, the Patriots (8-15, 3-9 CAA) took a 48-42 lead. But the Tigers (8-16, 2-11 CAA) seized control of the game and never looked back.
