Matt: One year ago, Ray Lewis rode off into the sunset and I cried tears of joy. It’s hard to watch two other teams get a chance for glory like the Ravens did last year. Nonetheless, I have to suck it up and pick this dang game. Peyton Manning has a chance to ride off into the sunset and prove all the haters wrong. Geez, it sounds pretty familiar. The way he’s throwing at 37 gives hope to those suffering from mid-life crises: you can still do great things even though the number of grey hairs on your head is rapidly increasing. I’m a really big fan […] Read the full story »

Munch: Well Towson, the football season is finally coming to an end. Well, there’s still a few weeks left of actual football, but does it really matter if there’s no Punt, Pass and Pick to go along with it? Plus, with the Browns becoming more and more of a disgrace and inching closer to drafting Johnny Manziel, I’m pretty much abandoning following the NFL until playoff time. Until then, go Wizards! Wait, I still haven’t introduced my opponent. It’s Jesse Jones. He usually beats me at this. Thundercat: I would just like to take this time to thank Mr. Munshaw for inviting me to participate in a […] Read the full story »

Jon: Thank God… I mean oh no! I only have one more of these to do after this week. I will be grateful to have the extra time on my hands, but it will unfortunately limit me to the number of punishments I can dole out. But who am I kidding? I couldn’t pick NFL games if my life depended on it. I also make what I honestly believe is the best pick, and I just can’t produce the results. It’ll be especially important this week to at least tie, because I know Glaze will continue to rub it in if I bomb. Alex: Thanks, Munch, for […] Read the full story »

Jon: It’s getting to be the end of the NFL season, and you all know what that means! Repeat opponents in Punt, Pass and Pick!   But seriously, it’s either this or we go back to the Pokemon-themed picks of last year, so I’m more than happy to have Matt Hamilton back this week to pick against.   I would start some trash talk here, but he’s honestly too nice of a person to talk bad about. I can’t even bring myself to hack his Facebook when it’s left up in the office, so let’s just get to the picks.   Matt: Just when I thought I […] Read the full story »

Jon: As someone once said, don’t bite the hand that feeds you. Unfortunately, that’s exactly what I’m going to have to do this week against Ray Feldmann, a great colleague and friend of mine. For those who don’t know, it’s essentially Ray’s job to pass of statements to be on the University’s behalf when something breaking happens (and in some cases, non-breaking). I don’t know much about Ray’s background as a football fan, but I can vouch for the fact that he’s really looking forward to doing this, but unfortunately I’m going to have to rain on his parade (assuming, of course, that we actually have different […] Read the full story »

Jon: Sorry for the week off last week everyone. I tried something new and wanted to have the Towson student body pick against me. I got the Towson student body to respond, and by “student body” I mean Stan Koh. Never met the guy, but he answered my Facebook post on The Towerlight’s page so he’s all right in my book. I’m still on a high from the Browns win on Sunday (first time in five and a half years) so I’m feeling a little more confident than usual. Stan: The name’s Stanley. I’m a junior and I’m a sport management major, so it makes sense for […] Read the full story »

Munch: Well this is awkward. Since I completely forgot about Punt, Pass and Pick this week, I realized Monday morning that I didn’t have an opponent. But it all worked out, since I get the chance this week to redeem myself against Jesse Jones, who in Week 1 defeated me (I think). Hopefully I can put together at least a better week than Brandon Weeden. Jesse: The Ravens lost to Pittsburgh and are now under .500. I might cry. John Harbaugh better get his act together quick, because if they lose to the Bengals on my 21st, with me sitting 10 rows from the field, the city […] Read the full story »

Jon: Well last week was embarrassing. If it wasn’t for Ryan Fitzpatrick and the Detroit Lions, I would have had a decent chance to beat my old roommate. However, Fitzpatrick couldn’t get the Titans offense down the field at the end of the game, and Detroit essentially did nothing without Calvin Johnson. But on to the next week. Maybe I’ll have better luck against someone that I have never lived with, and frankly I’ve never met in-person, even though he writes for me. You’ve got to love the 21st century. Justin: Greetings sports fans and fans of the Towerlight alike. My name is Justin Manry. I am […] Read the full story »

Jon: WE DID IT TOWSON. I finally won Punt Pass and Pick by a legitimate margin. I’d like to thank the Detroit Lions and the New England Patriots for making this possible. And like the Cleveland Browns, I expect to continue my winning streak, but instead of playing the Buffalo Bills on Thursday night I just get Curt, my former roommate and current friend. Curt: Hi, my name is Curt Zanelotti. I’m a chemistry major here at Towson University, and I’m also the co-author to the blog “Both Sides of the Bench.” It’s there that I try to bring sports knowledge in the form of arguments with […] Read the full story »

Munch: Hello Towerlight readers. Today I join you not as a Cleveland Browns fan, but as a fan of the Detroit Lions. After the Browns traded away Trent Richardson, I (sort of) gave up being a Browns fan for the remainder of the year. It’s my way of protesting them figuratively and literally punting on the season. So from now on, I’ll be picking all my games through the lenses of a fan of the Fightin’ Reggie Bushes. This week I’m taking on Kyle Wert, a good friend of mine who is known to break phones and flip over chairs when playing NBA 2K13 (the word is […] Read the full story »
