The Tigers didn’t leave the Alabama Tournament with their perfect record intact, after a 3-0 loss to the Alabama Crimson Tide on Saturday. Towson (9-1) began the tournament with three wins against the Citadel Bulldogs (3-7), Savannah St. Tigers (2-7) and Southern Miss Eagles (9-4). The Tigers held all three teams scoreless. However, the Tigers couldn’t find a way to win a set against the Crimson Tide (8-2). “What’s interesting is when we broke down the match with the girls, our girls actually had more kills, assists and digs,” Head Coach Don Metil said. “Our team played at a high level, but just made a couple more […] Read the full story »

Towson had an 19-14 lead and went on to score seven straight points to win the first set 25-14.   Football Eight months have passed since Towson fell to the North Dakota State Bison in the Football Championship Subdivision Championship Game in Frisco, Texas. Still, the energy from the championship game run resonates throughout the program and community. “It’s exciting that people are finally understanding that you get up every morning and you’re going to win a National Championship,” Head Coach Rob Ambrose said.  “All of a sudden they say ‘You know what? I don’t care what anyone says, I can be the best at what I’m doing.’ And I love hearing that. That now happens because of what our guys have done. If that’s not […] Read the full story »

Towson dropped two Colonial Athletic Association games over the weekend, losing to the UNC Wilmington Seahawks 3-0 on Friday and to the College of Charleston Cougars, 3-1, on Sunday. The team was without a few players, including sophomore Haley Pa’akaula, which was a factor in both losses. “We only traveled 12 girls, so that made things more difficult for us,” Head Coach Don Metil said. “[Pa’akaula] just came off of being CAA Player of the Week, but was hurt and didn’t travel with us. It threw our dynamic off a bit because we had to play people at different positions.” In the match against the Seahawks (16-8, […] Read the full story »
