Campus parking, housing strained

With construction overtaking campus, the University is holding its breath until new residence halls and parking structures are available to accomodate a growing number of students

Parking rules change Residents and commuters can no longer park in any free space they find. Lots and garages across campus have been designated for commuters or residents only. Parking and transportation services created these policies in hopes of decreasing congestion during peak parking hours, which are from 9 a.

Officer training moves online

Campus police use Blackboard, PowerPoint and video for classes

The Towson University Police Department is turning to technology to train police officers and TUPD personnel. Using the Digital Media Classroom in Cook Library and Blackboard, officers and TUPD staff members can view training sessions at their own pace online.

Burst pipe damages several classrooms

About 67 rooms in the Center for the Arts have been closed for the entire semester due to flooding from a pipe burst July 4. Harry Hughes, director of the physical plant, said 28 rooms are closed on the third floor, 29 on the second floor and 10 on the first floor.

Towson preps for fall sports with rally

This Wednesday, Towson will hold it's annual fall sports pep rally from 7-9:15 p.m. on Burdick Field in preparation for the Tiger's home opener against the Blue Devils of Central Connecticut. The Tigers will face the Blue Devils Thursday, 7 p.m. at Johnny Unitas Stadium.
