Students voice support for O'Malley's budget plan

University System of Maryland schools are joining together and attempting to rally student support for Governor Martin O'Malley's proposed tax increase that would fund higher education. Sarah Elfreth, Student Government Association senator and University System of Maryland student council representative and director of governmental operations, said students should write letters and send e-mails to their districts' representatives through Capwiz.

College of Business and Economics selects 'Donald' for this year's 'The Associate'

John Tolmie, president and CEO of St. Joseph Medical Center, has agreed to play the role of Donald Trump for the College of Business and Economics' annual competition, "The Associate." The competition is scheduled to begin Feb. 19 and is only open for business majors.

David Vanko keeps a large rock on his desk next to his phone. To the untrained eye, the rock is just a plain, round tan rock. But not to Vanko. If you ask him, no rock is just a plain old rock. "If you flip that rock over you'll see something really cool," he said.

Groups plan cancer charity walk

Nick Di Marco Staff Writer Students and local community members will come together in April to raise money for the American Cancer Society. On Monday, a kick-off event will provide information to interested students about Relay For Life, a 12-hour marathon walk.

Network problem disrupts cash register service in dining facilities

Students who used their OneCards at dining facilities on campus last week received receipts that read "offline." "The registers are registering the transactions but the communication is a problem All the registers work offline. They store the transaction [but] there's difficulty in the communication back to the main server," Bob Campbell, director of finance and information systems in auxiliary services, said.
