The University System of Maryland Board of Regents' education policy committee approved Towson's proposal to start a master's degree in kinesiology Tuesday. Charlotte Exner, dean of the College of Health Professions, said the full Board of Regents and the Maryland Higher Education Commission must approve the master's before it's launched.
Towson University Police received an anonymous threat on Sunday, which specified harmful action could take place, in or around Linthicum Hall on Monday, according to a posting on the University Web site. A message about the threat was sent out at about 3:30 p.
More than 200 people donated blood in the sixth annual Colonial Athletic Association Blood Challenge Monday, according to Margie Tversky, associate athletic director of student services. Tversky said about 112 athletes, five coaches and several students, faculty and staff donated.
Two suspects are in police custody following an armed carjacking involving two Towson University students Monday night. No one was injured in the carjacking, according to police. The suspects have been identified as Rashaad Thomas, 21, of the 4200 block of LaSalle Avenue and Marquise Artez Dukes, 17, of the 1200 block of Kitmore Road.

With Maryland's primary elections on the horizon, a new political student group has formed at Towson with one overall goal in mind: getting Texas congressman Ron Paul elected as the next president of the United States. Alex Peak, president of Towson Students for Ron Paul and vice president of the College Libertarians, founded the group earlier this semester.

The event will take place at 8:30 a.m. on Burdick Field. 150 runners participated in last year's race, raising approximately $650.
