Formerly known as Valley View Apartments, the Towson Place Apartments, located off Cross Campus Drive across from the Glen Garage, had its grand opening this weekend after a major overhaul that began last summer. Capstone Development Corp., the same company that manages Millennium Hall, purchased the apartment complex in Summer 2006.

The pedestrian path that leads students around the West Village housing complex to the Towson Run Apartments was moved closer to the new buildings in order to accommodate the ongoing construction. The first phase of the West Village will include about 670 beds in two residence halls and is located between Millennium Hall and the Towson Run Apartments.
Carol Vellucci, the assistant to the president for communications, resigned her position effective Jan. 1. Vellucci, who was previously the director of the Career Center, began working in the President's Office in May 2006. She worked at Towson for a little less than five years.
