QSU works to raise funds in support

Towson seniors, Chris Snider and Stacey Antoine were on their way home from Fort Lauderdale, Fla. when they received a phone call at about 6 a.m. on Friday, informing them that their apartment was on fire. The two-alarm blaze devastated building 1009 at the Kenilworth at Charles Apartment complex and caused some smoke and water damage to the adjacent building, according to Baltimore County Fire Department spokeswoman

Veterans to receive aid

Thank You Grants to be offered for up to eight semesters at $500 each

To aid veterans with the costs associated with enrollment, Towson will start providing qualified veterans with $500 for up to eight semesters. The idea of Thank You Grants started with Tracy Miller, academic advisor and director of the National Student Exchange.

Students, staff and faculty, along with members of the Towson community will be contacted at random for a survey concerning the impact of the University's growth in the next couple weeks. The survey is part of the University's association with the American Democracy Project and the deliberative polling process.

C-SPAN mobile studio tours nation for election season

The presidential campaign made a pit stop in Towson Wednesday afternoon. C-SPAN's Campaign 2008 mobile studio bus parked in Lot 11, outside the Union Garage, from noon to 2 p.m. The bus, one of two traveling across the country to cover the 2008 presidential race, will be on the road 11 months out of this year.

Dyan Brasington appointed head of economic and community outreach

Brasington became acting associate vice president and then associate vice president of DECO following James Clements appointment to provost.

Caret gives TU high marks for 2010 master plan report card With a little less than two years left to fulfill Towson's 2010 plan, the University received 13 grades in the A range for the 2006-2007 report card as determined by Towson President Robert Caret.

Latinas speak about struggles

To celebrate Women's History Month, students attended Towson's first Latina Symposium in the University Union Potomac Lounge at 6 p.m. Tuesday. Three Latina businesswomen came to share their stories with students. The Center for Student Diversity, the Women's Center, and the Latin American Student Organization and the Career Center sponsored the event.
