Students with 89 or fewer credits at the end of Fall 2007 can sign up for on-campus housing Wednesday in the University Union Chesapeake Rooms I and II.
Residents of the Towson Run Apartments who want to return to the same building will start the day at 8 a.m.
Students with 30 or more credit hours at the end of Fall 2007 and who want to sign up for Towson Run, sign up at 10 a.m.
Students who want to change floors but remain in the same building they're in this year need to sign up at 1 p.m. and students who want to change buildings will sign up at 2:30 p.m.
The University is expecting 2,900 freshmen for Fall 2008, 80 percent of whom are expected to live on campus. The number of residents living on campus or in Millennium Hall will be between 4,400-4,500.
"Each year buildings do fill up and [students] should have more than one choice in mind," Jerry Dieringer, assistant vice president and director of housing and residence life, said.
He said the Glen Towers tend to fill up the fastest.
"It varies each year but they tend to go pretty quickly," he said.
Students who have squatted their rooms and those who signed up for singles have already been notified of their housing and do not need to attend Wednesday's sign up.
Dieringer said students still interested in singles, should sign up for a double room and can then turn in an application for a single to the HRL office in Newell Hall.
He said room changes after Wednesday are not out of the question.
"Once they sign up for their room they're done for the day. They then have to come back a couple weeks later if they want to make a change. We do entertain changes, but not that day," he said.
Students interested in living in Millennium Hall or the West Village need to contact Capstone Development Corp., not HRL.
Dieringer said that Capstone has filled almost 50 percent of the West Village.
Only current and incoming freshmen are eligible to live in the two new residence halls located between Millennium Hall and Towson Run.
"There was a limited number of returners who could go into [West Village]. [Capstone] didn't hit their cap so the rest will go to freshmen or transfers," Dieringer said.
Students with questions should contact HRL at 410-704-2516.
