After the lecture he took about 30 students on a ghost hunt at the Auburn House on Auburn Drive near the Towson Center.
Zaffis' visit to the University included a presentation of stories about paranormal incidents that he has encountered and evidence to justify the events. This was Zaffis' second time at TU. About 200 students attended the lecture, according to Jason Stefaniak, president of the University Residence Government.
Zaffis brought along his K-2 Meter which picks up spirit responses, according to Zaffis.
"The tour was much better this time, because he had this tool with him...We would ask yes and no questions, and the spirits in the room would answer," Stefaniak said.
The group huddled into Auburn House and watched a flashing light from the K-2 Meter, suggesting ghosts were among them.
"Everyone really bought into it, whether or not they were skeptics," Stefaniak said.
Zaffis, dubbed the "Godfather of Ghost Hunting," has studied the paranormal for more than 30 years. His interest began at age 16 when he caught a sighting of his deceased grandfather, he said. He has been researching the paranormal as well as possession and exorcism with other ghost hunters and clergy of multiple religions.
