Senior attackman Jonathan Engelke hurled the ball into the air Saturday afternoon to run out the final six seconds of the game. The Tigers who were already on the field celebrated with one another, and the bench cleared to rush senior goaltender Bill Sadtler after he shut down the visiting Blue Hens for 32 minutes, 13 seconds.

The scoreboard read: Towson 10, Delaware 7. The CAA standings show Towson with a winning record, despite an overall mark of 3-6. The Tigers are now tied for second in the conference with Hofstra.

"This is a big game for us," Engelke said. "The emotion was at a high level. We were really excited to play, and we won."

Heading into the third quarter after a month and a half of second-half frustration, Towson experienced a total role reversal, shutting down the Blue Hen offense late in the game and finally seeing efficient production on offense late in the game.

"You always think that one game in a season turns you around," head coach Tony Seaman said. "And hopefully this is the one that gets us going the right way. Because I've said all along I think we're pretty good."

After allowing the first three goals of the game and trailing by four late in the first half, the Tigers went on an 8-0 run spanning from 5:08 left in the second quarter until late in the fourth. Engelke scored three goals and had four assists on the day, while junior attackman Bill McCutcheon notched four goals and an assist.

"It was a team effort," McCutcheon said. "We've practiced hard all year long. I think the motto of today's game was fight to the very last whistle. "
