Starving Student: Stomach-stuffing sandwiches

Lame jokes aside, Uncle Wiggly's, located at 6911 York Road, is serious about their sandwiches.
You can make your own sandwich or sub, each piled high with deli meat topped with your choice of veggies, cheese and condiments. Or you can choose from their list of specialty sandwiches.
I had the Raven, which included roast beef, cheddar, red onion, tomatoes, roasted red peppers and a horseradish sauce on a Kaiser roll. My companion had the White Russian, with oven roasted turkey, Swiss cheese, coleslaw and Russian dressing on a Kaiser roll. Both were delicious and filling and definitely worth the wait (which I hear can get long, but it's worth it).
As deli fare goes, Uncle Wiggly's is up to par.
Another draw is the huge list of Edy's ice cream flavors Uncle Wiggly's offers from their ice cream counter. Almost every flavor you could ask for, from classics like chocolate and strawberry to more local-themed flavors like Orioles' graham slam, is available.
Uncle Wiggly's certainly fits the college budget. A sandwich, which comes with a pickle and a side, and a fountain soda will run you about $6. Ice cream runs in the $2 to $4 range, depending on number of scoops, toppings, etc.
Overall, Uncle Wiggly's is worth a visit. Now that the weather is getting warmer and the sun is starting to show its face regularly, it is prime time to take advantage of the eatery's outdoor patio on which to enjoy your lunch or dinner, or your single scoop cup or cone. Or, perhaps a double scoop, depending on how wiggly you're feeling.
