After beating Robert Morris and Delaware on consecutive weekends, Towson earned its third victory in four games Wednesday by beating Sacred Heart, 17-5, at Campus Field in Fairfield, Conn. The Tigers improved to 4-6, 3-1 in the Colonial Athletic Association.

Senior Jonathan Engelke and sophomore Eric Boyle each scored three goals, while senior Timmy Andre and sophomore Brock Armour scored twice each to lead the Tigers in a blowout win.

"This was a very pivotal game for us and for Sacred Heart," head coach Tony Seaman said. "We knew how important the game was. Every single game we have left is the most important game of the season."

Sophomores Ben Ganley and Phil Blevins scored their first career goals, and sophomore goaltender Rob Wheeler clocked his first 6:34 of the season in net.

"When I was in college, I didn't start all the time," Seaman said. "I came off the bench quite a few years. I always remember that I know how hard these guys work every day, but they don't get to play a lot. So any chance I get to let them play and let them contribute, it just makes it so much better for us."

Despite the big win, the Tigers still have yet to score the first goal of any contest this season. Dan Casciano, who got a hat trick for the Pioneers, scored with 4:59 left in the first quarter. With time winding down in the opening period, Towson scored twice in the final 31 seconds, thanks to Engelke and face-off specialist Clint Brakebill, to gain a 2-1 advantage.
