Will the NBA playoffs outdo March Madness?

Daniel: March Madness was cute this year. There were some Cinderellas and tons of parity in the Final Four. But like always, eventually the underdogs all fell off and the Final Four games were blowouts. The title game was great, but the rest of the tournament lacked a little of the flavor it's had in years past. The Western Conference playoffs, however, will be straight sexy this month. There will be no fluke teams pulling out crazy upsets because every team is a legitimate contender. Even the team left out in that 9-spot could have won a playoff series. Every game will be intense and most of the series will go to seven games.

Pete: NBA playoffs can be fun, but there is no way they can beat the NCAAs. I wouldn't use the word "cute" to describe Stephen Curry. Sure, he looks like a 10-year-old, but he plays like a pro. Four No. 1 seeds in the Final Four made it one of the best tournaments in recent memory, the championship game was amazing, and Tampa saw four underdogs win in the opening round.

Extra disclaimer: I stated in a column that the winner of the 2008 tourney would be one of the all-time greats, but not the best. Contrary to a recent ESPN.com poll, The 2008 Jayhawks were not the best team of the last decade. It doesn't matter how much you hate Billy Donovan or Joakim Noah; the 2007 Florida Gators were the best team since 2000, possibly ever.

How long will the O's continue to win?

Daniel: Not very. I'm happy for the Orioles fans who get the chance to see what it's like to win baseball games over a period of time to start this season, but remember that there are still over 150 games left to be played and only the truly strong will survive. I'll give the O's another day or two before the Yanks or Sox catch them and maybe two weeks before they're back in the basement of the AL East. But hey, it was fun while it lasted, right? Besides, it's all about the future in Baltimore, just like it has been for the last decade or so. Sorry guys.
