Coming off their first home loss of the season, a 13-10 decision to George Mason, the Tigers (10-4, 4-1) rebounded in their home finale, defeating James Madison (5-8, 1-3), 12-7, on senior day at Johnny Unitas Stadium. Junior Hillary Fratzke scored five goals and added an assist, while junior Britt Woodfield added two goals of her own and became the fourth Towson player with at least 20 goals this season.

"Towson is one of the fastest teams in the country," James Madison head coach Shelley Klaes-Bawcombe said. "They had way too many chances [offensively], and we weren't really attacking."

The Tigers got on the board just 1:56 into the game on a free position goal by Fratzke. The goal was her 47th straight game with a point and 40th consecutive game with one goal, the longest active streak in the nation. Junior Meggie McNamara, Fratzke, and sophomores Steph Taylor and Jacie Kendall each scored in succession before Fratzke stole a JMU pass, rushed up the middle of the field on a breakaway, and cashed in her third goal of the half with just seven seconds remaining, giving the team a 6-0 advantage.

The Tigers' stifling defense in the first held the Dukes to just seven shots. The Tigers held their opponent scoreless in any half for the first time this season behind the goaltending of senior Mandy Corry.

"Everyone was a little more excited because it was senior day," Corry said. "But we had a good scouting report on them and everything was clicking. Playing goalie is a lot of mental things. When you get a big lead like that, you just have so much adrenaline, and that helps a lot."
