What do you think is the funniest sitcom currently on television? "Two and a Half Men" wins my vote. Since the show first aired in 2003, I have been hooked. I find the show uproarious with genuinely hilarious characters. The seasons have recently begun rolling out on DVD and I have, and will be, buying every season.
"Two and Half Men" airs every Monday night at 9 p.m. on CBS.
The show continues to get funnier as we find out more and more about the characters. As most fans know, the show chronicles the lives of two brothers and one son, and the events that occur when living together. Charlie Harper (Charlie Sheen) allows his brother, Alan Harper (Jon Cryer), and Harper's son (Angus T. Jones) to stay at his home when Harper's wife divorces him.
The characters clash hilariously. Charlie is a bachelor living on the beach while writing catchy jingles for a living. Alan is a recently divorced father and chiropractor. His son, Jake, is your rather typical 10-year-old: lazy and dim-witted. In addition, the Harper family has their maid, Berta (Conchata Ferrell), who practically steals the show with every line out of her mouth. She brings me to tears.
"Two and a Half Men" shows no boundaries when it comes to making fun of each of the character's situations. Whether the show pokes fun at the brothers hating their mother, Alan's failed marriage, or Charlie's bachelor lifestyle, we get to laugh at their expense.
The show certainly boasts great writing and an original script. "Two and a Half Men" has got to be one of the funniest shows on television right now. It is just so much fun to watch the characters crack on each other.
A few friends and I gather around the television every Monday night to watch the latest episode. On top of that, I watch the seasons I have on DVD nearly everyday. It's no wonder I can't get any homework done. Even though the family in the show is dysfunctional, you wish you were part of it.
"Two and a Half Men" gets me laughing no matter what mood I am in. I choose to watch it over any other television show out there. If you are looking for a good laugh, "Two and a Half Men" just might do it.
