Coming off a weekend series loss to Northeastern, the Tigers steamrolled the Maryland Terrapins in a non-conference victory on Wednesday, 12-3. Towson pitchers Jon Dupski, Corey Cascio and Wes Shifflett combined to pitch a no-hitter through the first five innings before Austin Hurd gave up the first run for the Terps in the top of the sixth.

Dupski, a senior, was formerly a closer for the Tigers. He said that his past experience in starting made the change from a strict closing spot easier, and that the starting position in Wednesday's game helped to prepare him for the upcoming weekend series against William & Mary College.

"I used to be a start, so it's really not that bad of a shift," Dupski said. "I knew going into today that the whole goal was just to pitch two innings. Hopefully I'll pitch in relief over the weekend."

Towson took off with a strong offensive lead in the bottom of the first inning. Nick Natoli ended up with the first out of the inning on a 6-3 ground ball. A run-down involving Kevin Collins, Matt Collins and the Maryland infielders ended with Kevin out at third base and Matt safe at second. Greg Furmanek would bring Matt Collins home on a single to score the first run of the game. Jason Stifler knocked out a home run to add two runs to the Tigers' total. After Chris Wychock made it to first on a line drive to short right field, he was brought home on a stand-up triple by Aaron Gabrielian to end the scoring for the first inning at 4-0.

The second inning saw much of the same for Towson, with Stifler blasting another home run over the fence to score three runs.
