Along with "The Dark Knight", "Pineapple Expresss" has been one of the only movies of the past few months where I would classify my condition right before seeing it as "giddy." Maybe it was because of the surprise success of last year's "Superbad." Maybe it was because my buddy Seth Rogen and I go way back to the days of television failures/cult hits "Freaks and Geeks" and "Undeclared.

Fresh out of college, three recent Towson graduates already have an Emmy to their name. Jason Stefaniak, Justin Kanner and Jeff O'Dell were selected for the Outstanding Achievement for a Student Production Award by the National Capital/Chesapeake Bay chapter of the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences.

Student succeeds on the silver screen

Filmmaker Justin Beckenheimer credits his experiences at Towson University for his success, including winning the Best in Show award at this year's Towson Student Media Arts Festival.

Justin Beckenheimer didn't watch many movies while growing up. "I kind of still don't like watching movies," he said. "I don't really like the Hollywood blockbusters. I saw 'Iron Man,' I thought that sucked. I saw 'Indiana Jones,' I thought that sucked." The recent Towson University graduate instead decided to shoot his own.

Get Turned On: Summer shows don't disappoint

Well, we're in the full swing of the summer programming season. That means return of the endless rerun, return of the lame game show and return of lots of terrible reality television. Despite all of this, I can't say it's all bad - I find myself compelled to sit in front of the tube and absorb the mindless shows that flash by.
