Update: April 21
Police have identified the bodies people that were found dead on Monday at the Sheraton on Dulaney Valley Road. According to a release from Baltimore County Police, the remains were of a family of four: William Parente, 59, Betty Parente, 58, and their daughters Stephanie, 19, and Catherine, 11.
Stephanie was a Loyola College student in the class of 2011.
"This is a moment of unimaginable sorrow for the entire Loyola family. The loss of young lives -- particularly under such circumstances -- defies understanding," Loyola President Rev. Brian F. Linnane wrote in an e-mail sent to the college community. "It calls upon us to hold fast to those we care about, to cherish every moment we are able to share with them. It also calls upon us to reflect on the challenges faced by those around us and to do all we can to show our support for those in our community. My own thoughts and prayers are with the Parente family and those who mourn them."
The family was visiting the area from Garden City, NY. Police are investigating the case as a murder/suicide. The bodies have been taken to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner in Baltimore for autopsies Tuesday. The causes of the deaths will not be released until after the autopsies are completed, the release said.

Hill could not release any more information regarding the investigation as of 9 p.m.
“Just because of where we are at in the investigation, from an identification standpoint, we’re not going to release any information about any marks or whatever about their bodies,” he said.
At about 10 p.m. the bodies were removed from the hotel.
The four people were supposed to check out of the hotel sometime Monday when housekeeping personnel discovered the bodies. Investigators were notified shortly before 3 p.m.

Baltimore County Police spokesman corporal Mike Hill said the victims had not yet been identified and could not release their ages, race or gender.
The four people were supposed to check out of the hotel sometime Monday when housekeeping personnel discovered the bodies, according to Hill, who also could not release the nature of the scene.
“At this point we’re really just getting into the investigation,” Hill said at 6 p.m. on Monday. “We don’t even know what kind of investigation we’re dealing with.”
Baltimore County police received the call about the incident at about 3 p.m. Crime scene technicians and detectives were working well into the evening at the Sheraton.
“It appears that this is a contained scene and that there is not a threat to anyone else at the hotel or the area,” Hill said.
